The Red Seal Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Tria’s fleet of vehicles and equipment under the direction of the Service Supervisor and CEO of the Redi-Mix Division.
Role and Responsibilities
- Technical skills and knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues
- Test drive vehicles and equipment as part of the diagnostic process
- Respond to on-road mechanical issues, repair at location where possible, or transport back to the shop
- Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to comply with safety standards
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic and fleet software including opening, updating and closing work orders
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Maintain relevant licensing and certifications
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and professional development
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Quality Control:
- Support Tria’s high standards in workplace health and safety through compliance and documentation
- Work safely, including use of required PPE, following safe work procedures, and company policies
- Maintain all tools and equipment in the shop to ensure safety and effectiveness
- Report any tools requiring repair or replacement to direct supervisor
- Attend and participate in all toolbox talks and safety meetings
Recordkeeping and Documentation:
- Record all work performed in fleet software
- Submit all safety observations, recommendations and required paperwork in an accurate timely manner
- Utilize company software to document any incidents or observations
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Journeyman/Red Seal certification preferred
- Automotive or Truck Transport certified
- Able to walk and stand on feet for extended period
- Able to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs
- Able to crawl on hands and knees, climb a ladder
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Legal to work in Canada
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Current Drivers’ abstract
- Current Criminal Record Check
- Current Child Abuse Registry Check
- Clear drug and alcohol test
